Successful participation in European aviation conferences: Our researchers honoured

Over the past few weeks we have attended four leading aviation and propulsion conferences in Europe. Not only have we been inspired by new ideas, but we have also been recognised for our scientific work.

Dr Thomas Dygutsch won the ISABE Best Paper Award at the International Society for Air Breathing Engines Conference (ISABE 2024) in Toulouse. His paper is about the effect of inter compressor duct lenght on compressor performance. Click here for the paper.

Aryan Karimian received the Manfred Fricke Prize for Sustainable Aviation, awarded by the German Aerospace Society (DGLR) at DLRK 2024 in Hamburg. His master's thesis focuses on the robust optimisation of compressor blades by combining adjoint methods and Gaussian process regression.
