                    Compressor Test Facilities

                    The Institute of Propulsion Technology carries out a wide range of investigations in the field of compressor technology. Our research ranges from compressor map determination and detailed flow field measurements to special applications such as active noise control or counter-rotating propfans.

                    Radial Compressor

                    The experimental investigation of new compressor designs and their numerical flow simulations is carried out on the test facility for centrifugal compressors.

                    Multistage Two Shaft Compressor Test Facility

                    The Compressor Test Bench enables a wide range of compressor analyses: From measuring the full compressor map, determining the pumping limit and detailed flow field measurements to special applications such as active noise control on single-stage fans or counter-rotating propfans.

                    Transonic Cascade Wind Tunnel

                    The test rig is used for basic aerodynamic analyses of turbomachinery profiles and for detailed investigations of individual flow phenomena in the compressor.

                    Inter Compressor Duct

                    The Inter Compressor Duct is a state-of-the-art test facility specifically designed for the in-depth study of steep compressor intercoolers. It also allows the investigation of advanced stator concepts for future engine generations.
