                    Aeroacoustics Research Infrastructure

The Engine Acoustics Department operates a number of test facilities that allow the investigation of individual components or the interaction of several elements. These facilities can be used to investigate the relevant sound sources of the classic engine, as well as modern concepts and passive and active sound-absorbing measures.

                    Aeroacoustic Test Facilities

The test benches of the Engine Acoustics Department in Berlin can be used to analyse the main noise sources of classic engines and future propulsion systems, as well as passive and active noise reduction measures.

                    Aeroacoustic Simulation Framework

The Engine Acoustics Department develops various tools for predicting and evaluating engine noise.

Aeroacoustic and aerodynamic measurement and analysis methods

The Engine Acoustics department uses various methods to investigate sound sources, analyse flows in wind tunnels and engines and develop the basis for the development of new forecasting tools.
