                    Turbine Test Facilities

                    Next Generation Turbine

The state-of-the-art turbine test rig is used for aerothermodynamic tests for aircraft engines and gas turbines for power generation.

                    Straight Cascade Wind Tunnel

The Straight Cascade Wind Tunnel is used for aerothermodynamic investigations on flat, vertical cascades of high, medium or low pressure turbines of aircraft engines as well as gas and steam turbines.

                    Channel for Probe Calibration

At the DLR Institute of Propulsion Technology, pneumatic probes are calibrated in homogeneous, stationary flow fields with known characteristics for our own research and in cooperation with partners. This is an essential prerequisite for precise measurements of flow fields in wind tunnels or other aerodynamic systems.
