Joint appointments combine cutting-edge research with university teaching
In the course of joint appointment procedures with universities, DLR appoints the directors of the DLR institutes who then also hold a professorship with a reduced teaching load at the cooperating university. Joint appointments of department heads or group leaders are also possible. The close personnel link strengthens the professional cooperation and strategic connection between the partners, representing a central element of DLR's networking with universities.
