„Applied research and satellite operations“
FIELD OF STUDY: Mathematics | NOW: Space Operations and Astronaut Training
Maintaining an overall picture, empowering employees, making decisions, steering developments and addressing challenges. If you feel this is your calling and want to do all of this in the fascinating field of research, DLR is the right place for you.
With us, you will be at the very heart of science and technology and can make a real difference with your leadership skills. And that is very important to us: how will DLR employees achieve great things and develop ground-breaking innovations without people like you creating the right conditions?
Heike Frei can also make a big difference. After working as a project manager, Frei, who holds a doctorate in mathematics, took over the management of the Spaceflight Technology department at DLR Space Operations & Astronaut Training. She is responsible for the strategic and organisational direction, manages and supports employees and coordinates overarching research and development work.
Employees who give their best every day
"For me, having frequent face-to-face meetings is very important," emphasises Heike. "I think it's important to communicate openly, directly and respectfully." The mother of a young child is never bored: the work is challenging and she can actively initiate change. The feedback on Heike's work is correspondingly motivating: "I experience a lot of appreciation and gratitude."
