Bremen aerospace research programme

Since 2014, Bremen has been supporting small and medium-sized companies and aerospace research institutions in particular in the development of new products and solutions through the "Bremen Aerospace Research Programme 2020".

The aim of the programme is to strengthen the innovative power and competitiveness of companies and institutions.

New call for proposals in the Bremen aerospace research programme

The Senator for Economics, Ports and Transformation Bremen has announced a new round of calls for tenders for the aerospace research programme (LuRaFo).

LuRaFo funding is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized companies from the aerospace sector and related fields of technology. Large companies can also be funded under certain conditions, as can research organisations in cooperation with companies. Funding is available for projects that contribute to the development of technologies for environmentally friendly aerospace and thus strengthen Bremen as a centre of technology. The current call focuses in particular on projects that advance the industry through digitalisation, sustainable technologies and new mobility concepts - from "new flying" and satellite-based applications to innovative solutions for low-Earth orbit and the protection of critical infrastructure. Companies based or operating in Bremen or Bremerhaven can apply for funding.

Project outlines can be submitted until 8 June 2026.
