Quantum information and communication Department

The Quantum Information and Communication department investigates questions of quantum information by utilising synergies between theoretical and experimental basic research and develops technological applications in collaboration with industry. Topics include research into quantum computing hardware and software, the realisation of quantum cryptography and global quantum communication, for example on satellites. Research is also being conducted into how to communicate efficiently in quantum networks over long distances and at high loss rates.
