                      Test Benches for Space Propulsion

The DLR Institute of Space Propulsion operates test benches for testing liquid chemical space propulsion systems. The DLR site is home to large-scale DLR and ESA facilities with various test positions and options to meet the needs of the space industry and other research institutions.

                      Hydrogen Test Infrastructure

As an energy source, hydrogen is gaining more and more fields of application in our society. This has increased the need for test infrastructure for new products. With the projects "Zero Emission - Hydrogen Site Lampoldshausen" and "Hydrogenium", the DLR Institute of Space Propulsion is expanding test facilities for research and industry.

                      Laboratories & Technical Center

The DLR research facilities at the DLR Institute of Space Propulsion not only offer a good complement and close integration to the large-scale test benches. All technology maturity levels – from individual components to complex engines and entire systems – can be tested at facilities that are unique in Europe.
