DIH-HERO Information event on 10 July 2019
On Wednesday, July 10, 2019, external visitors to the DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen can learn about the EU project DIH-HERO and about the available funding opportunities. They will have the chance to get a glimpse of the MIRO Innovation Lab for medical robotics research and learn how the DIH-HERO network can help start-ups and small and medium-sized companies develop and evaluate robotic technologies.
Digital Innovation Hubs in Healthcare Robotics, DIH-HERO for short, is the name of the EU project launched in January with the aim of creating a Europe-wide network in the field of healthcare robotics. The German Aerospace Center (DLR) is also participating in the network with its MIRO Innovation Lab and the SMiLE and VITA projects. The network aims to foster intensive exchanges and mutual support between industry, science and clinical partners. The goal is to bring innovations to market faster, so that patients, hospital and nursing staff benefit from them sooner.
The European Union has allocated €16 million in funding for the project, of which €8 million will benefit start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises in various stages.
