Institute spin-off Leverage Robotics
Leverage Robotics is the latest spin-off from the German Aerospace Centre (DLR). The company is presenting itself internationally for the first time at the Hannover Messe. It develops highly flexible robot assembly stations for safe and efficient human-robot collaboration. The product range includes the Flex Assembly Cell, Tool Cubes, Tool Cubes Skills and the Robotic Airbag: the Leverage Robotics Tool Cubes can be combined with commercially available robot grippers by replacing the existing gripper jaws with the Leverage Robotics Tool Cubes gripper jaws. In addition, a suitable software extension is offered, which is integrated into the teaching of the robot and enables intuitive operation. The issue of safety in the close coexistence of humans and robots is addressed with the Robotic Airbag, which encloses sharp-edged objects during fast robot movements and thus protects people from injury. The Robotic Airbag received the KUKA Innovation Award in 2017. The most comprehensive package is the Flex Assembly Cell, which includes all components and can be rented at a fixed monthly price. This option is intended to offer small and medium-sized companies in particular a flexible assembly solution without high investment hurdles and promote their competitiveness.
Digitalisation, artificial intelligence, automation and sustainable energy concepts are the main topics at Hannover Messe. Exhibitors will be presenting solutions for the global challenges of climate change from 30 May to 2 June. You will find us in Hall 2 Stand A52 at the Bayern Innovativ joint stand.
