Condition monitoring and quality assurance
Condition monitoring and quality assurance are key prerequisites for the reliable and long-term operation of solar power systems. At the Institute of Solar Research, we focus on the scientific methods and procedures required to accurately record system conditions, evaluate changes and ensure long-term operational safety.
One component of this work is energy meteorology, in which we investigate how atmospheric conditions influence the performance of solar systems.
We are working on specialised measurement methods that allow detailed analysis of components, materials and operating behaviour. In addition, we are developing standardised testing and acceptance procedures that enable reliable and comparable evaluation of technical components.
Another focus is the investigation of quality and durability of materials and components for solar power plants in order to understand potential ageing processes and the resulting changes in performance.
