Disaster events pose major challenges to civil and disaster protection, particularly with regard to the availability of communication links, up-to-date situational data for assessment and evaluation, as well as accessibility of the disaster area despite destroyed infrastructure, and the safe transport of goods into and out of disaster areas.
The RESITEK project bundles the DLR's capabilities and technologies from the fields of aeronautics, space, energy, transport and security to integrate technologies and services into a data and visualization system. This system enables continuous situational monitoring and, in the event of a disaster, user-oriented and deployment-optimized situational awareness, mission planning and execution.
The data and visualization system collects and analyzes relevant data to support decision-making in routine operations and allow the relief efforts of public safety and emergency services efficient and rapid as possible in the event of a disaster. In a joint final demonstration, the interaction of the developed platforms with a wide range of deployment vehicles will be demonstrated in a realistic operational scenario involving authorities and stakeholders. For the RESITEK project, this results in a scenario- and user-open approach and the requirement to develop a modular, continuously expandable integrated system.
