Scenario “Urban: Storm”


The demonstration in Braunschweig serves as a realistic test of the technologies and methods developed in the RESITEK project for the disaster scenario “Urban: Storm.” The aim is to realistically map the challenges of identifying affected areas, supplying and evacuating people, and securing critical infrastructure. The findings gained feed directly into the further development of the systems.
At the demonstration on 8 and 9 October 2026, the technologies and methods developed in the RESITEK project are demonstrated in the urban environment. In the assumed disaster scenario, a severe storm event has caused considerable damage in parts of the Braunschweig city area. Although the infrastructure is largely still in place, many areas are damaged or inaccessible, so the focus is on damage assessment, prioritization and coordination of emergency responders.
The technologies developed within RESITEK are intended to help rapidly assess the damage situation, direct deployment resources in a targeted manner, and bring together information from various sensors as well as aerial and ground data. All operational and situational information is brought together in the complex situational picture, thereby enabling more efficient planning, prioritization and execution of relief operations.
This demonstration will show how the developed system architecture and the various technologies interact in an urban environment and what added value they offer for emergency services and disaster response.
