HUB CHAIN – Connected digital mobility for rural areas
As part of the project HUB CHAIN, user requirements regarding innovative mobility services for Individual Public Transport (IPT) in suburban and rural areas are being investigated. The study examines the temporal and spatial flexibility of the mobility behaviour of specific user groups.
Our approach
User requirements analysis:
We begin with a thorough analysis of user needs to understand the mobility behaviour of specific user groups. This analysis enables us to identify potential user requirements and information needs in order to develop a bespoke mobility service.Development of operational and business models:
Based on the findings of the user needs analysis, we develop practical operational and business models that ensure the sustainable implementation of our IÖV concept.Integration into public transport operations:
We are addressing legal issues and preparing for the seamless integration of our IÖV into the public transport network to ensure that everything runs smoothly.Development of mobility platforms:
We are integrating innovative mobility solutions into our platforms, such as the VOSpilot app, to ensure effective passenger information and make it easier to access our public transport network.Test phase and optimisation:
Once we have acquired users, we will test our mobility services, including the new mobility platforms. As part of this, we will also integrate autonomous vehicles into regular scheduled services to ensure seamless mobility.KeepMoving OnDemand:
As part of our project, we are developing the KeepMoving OnDemand platform, which enables the management and provision of information for on-demand transport services and is seamlessly integrated into the local public transport network.
Our test area: the Elde headwaters
The Elde catchment area serves as a test site for our innovations. There, we have successfully managed the ELLI on-demand community bus fleet, with routes being dynamically configured to best meet user demand and ensure seamless connections to the wider public transport network.
KeepMoving services used
- On-demand booking with reservation service
- JourneyService (provides planned routes for the OnDemand fleet(s))
- GlobalRouter (an intermodal router that connects scheduled public transport with on-demand fleets)
