Keep Moving

Keep Moving offers data management, processing and service modules, dashboards, apps and interfaces for user interaction and data exchange.
The basic components developed are continuously expanded on a project-driven basis and new services and functionalities are added. Examples include traffic situation generation, traffic mode determination, user management, routing, scheduling, accessibility analyses, on-demand fleet management, mobility dashboards, etc.
Components of Keep Moving are used in different forms – depending on the individual project objectives and services required in a region, as well as available data sources – and can also be used externally and independently for research projects.
Real-time traffic information from various data sources is used for the different traffic modes and suitably merged in order to provide integrated traffic information that is as comprehensive as possible. These are for example:
- Floating car data (FCD) from taxis and buses
- Local municipal traffic detection (induction loops, traffic eyes, video cameras, etc.)
- Traffic information from third-party providers
- Broadcast messages (TMC, TPEG)
- Timetable and operating status data from municipal transport companies
Research is currently being conducted with Keep Moving in the following areas:
- Traffic management/monitoring
- Traffic situation calculation with evaluation, forecasts and development of measures
- Emission estimates
- Evaluation of simulated scenarios
- Use of AI for the development of measures
- Traffic management in crisis situations
- Disposition of fleets
- On-demand fleets, integrated in classic public transport
- Disposition of fleets in exceptional situations
- Disposition for automated fleets
- Intermodal travel chains
- Pre-, on- and post-trip services for travellers with real-time support and feedback channel
- Movements at the hub (passengers, baggage, boarding and disembarking situations)
Special features of Keep Moving
What makes Keep Moving truly unique is the development of Demand Responsive Routing algorithms that can work with multiple constraints. This allows the highest possible flexibility and adaptability to be achieved in a mobility system.
In addition, SUMO is used to simulate an artificial reality that can even be connected to a digital twin if required. Our solution automates evaluation procedures and models. At the same time, it identifies key performance indicators (KPIs) for your mobility services. This includes before-and-after comparisons with regard to traffic effects and the scheduling of vehicles during operation or in simulated reality.
Disruption management and resilience can also be analysed in this way. Keep Moving offers a comprehensive link between traffic and fleet management. This allows all aspects of a mobility system to be controlled seamlessly. It is also possible to integrate external online interfaces for live operation.
Keep Moving is a powerful tool that (partially) automatically evaluates and optimises a mobility system to achieve efficient and sustainable results.
