Measurement Lab
Intended for preparing and carrying out measurements that require a quiet environment. Among other things, it contains modular measurement technology and an area for sensor application.

The laboratory was established to accommodate experiments and test set-ups with specific requirements. This applies in particular to long-term studies and tests that require either a noise-protected environment or a controlled acoustic environment. Furthermore, the laboratory ensures constant conditions in terms of air temperature and humidity.
This controlled infrastructure enables new technologies to be systematically tested and high-quality scientific data to be generated. This data forms the basis for further analysis in the fields of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), Condition Monitoring and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) – and may be used for the detection, localisation and characterisation of structural anomalies.
The laboratory is currently equipped with two stationary and two mobile test benches:
- Stationary test benches: These comprise a thermographic and a strain-based test bench for structural health monitoring.
- Mobile test benches: These are used for vibro-acoustic investigations as well as for comprehensive battery and structural monitoring using various methods and technologies.
In addition, the laboratory offers a specialised infrastructure for sensor application. A dedicated, clean workstation provides all the necessary application equipment and tools.
The Measurement Lab is one of five laboratories of the Application Center MRO – a unique facility for practical research into MRO technologies and processes.
