The ArianeGroup Booster Award recognizes exceptional female Master's students in STEM subjects. It promotes the next generation of female researchers and scientists. The award is presented by a jury from business, science and politics for the most interesting, innovative, creative and coherent concept for a Master's thesis in STEM subjects. The virtual award ceremony took place on October 14, 2021.
Sarah Gelbing, employed at the DLR Institute of Space Propulsion, is currently writing her master's thesis on "Development of a test rig for turbopump components". As the winner of the ArianeGroup Booster Award, she will be assigned a mentor from the company to help her complete her master's thesis and, as a pioneer in the space industry, she will have the unique opportunity to attend a live rocket launch.
