The VITA rehabilitation system at MEDICA 2021
The Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics will be presenting the VITA rehabilitation system at the international medical trade fair MEDICA in Düsseldorf from 15-18 November 2021.
The trade fair is the world's largest medical trade fair with several thousand exhibitors from more than 50 nations. In addition to the exhibition in the exhibition halls of Messe Düsseldorf, various forums and conferences can be attended, some of which are free of charge. The programme includes innovations for outpatient and clinical care.
The VITA rehabilitation system developed at the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics will be presented in this context. This system is a further development of classic mirror therapy, which is used to treat phantom limb pain following an amputation. Patients can experience the missing limb fully functional in a virtual reality environment. This is made possible by muscle signals that can be used to control the virtual hand or foot.
