Video: Demonstrations of Advanced Aerial Manipulation Capabilities with the DLR SAM
Cable-Suspended Aerial Manipulator (SAM) is the latest generation of DLR's aerial manipulation system. In this video, we show advanced aerial manipulation capabilities, such as pick and place of heavy objects and closing of industrial flange valves. The demonstration relies on a telepresence concept with haptic and 3D visual feedback to the human operator. The team successfully showed the demonstrations at Automatica 2023, as a finalist of the KUKA Innovation Award.
