Technical University of Munich – Chair of Traffic Engineering and Control

The Chair of Traffic Engineering and Control at the Technical University of Munich researches and teaches methods for recording and influencing traffic in both private and public transport. In cooperation with European partners, topics such as traffic detection, modelling, simulation, systems engineering, intelligent vehicle concepts and vehicle-to-X communication are dealt with. The Chair works closely with cities to identify future mobility needs and is involved in the Digital Twin. Tools such as FleetPy support the analysis of multimodal route chains. The chair also develops driving functions and planning for automated vehicles, with a focus on predicting road users and manoeuvre planning. Finally, a comprehensive data and evaluation package will be created.

STADT:up – Solutions and Technologies for Automated Driving in Town: an urban mobility project

The STADT:up project is developing concepts and pilot applications for end-to-end automated driving in urban areas that are tailored to user needs.

SAVeNoW – a digital twin of Ingolstadt for safe and sustainable mobility

The SAVeNoW research project is investigating the development and operation of a digital twin for urban transport using the example of Ingolstadt. In virtual simulations, for example, individual traffic situations, individual traffic behaviour or completely new mobility concepts were examined and how changes affect important key figures in traffic.

UR:BAN – Innovative driver assistance and information systems for the city

In the UR:BAN research initiative, new types of assistance systems have been developed that provide drivers in urban traffic with anticipatory, situation-adapted and personalised support or, if necessary, intervene directly. In addition, new technologies have been developed that allow driver assistance systems to be operated conveniently.
