                        Urban Areas

Cities have become the primary living environment for people—globally, as well as in Germany and Bavaria. They are considered engines of economic and social development. However, urban areas will face major challenges in the future.

                        Agriculture

Approximately 45% of Bavaria’s total area is used for agricultural production. On about two-thirds of this land, covering over two million hectares, crops such as wheat, barley, oats, maize, rapeseed, potatoes, sugar beets are cultivated.

                        Forestry

Roughly one-third of Bavaria is covered by forests. These forests provide habitats for countless animal and plant species, regulate the climate and soil water balance, and remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

                        Cross-cutting topics

The EO4CAM cross-cutting topics focus on aspects that are relevant across multiple thematic areas.

                        EO4CAM Data Portal

The EO4CAM data portal ensures that the data and insights generated throughout the project are easily accessible to selected user groups. To achieve this, information products are tailored to specific users and provided through multiple access pathways.
