HySelect Technology
In the EU research project HySelect, the two-stage hybrid sulphur cycle is being demonstrated on a kW scale for the production of hydrogen. The energy for the thermochemical step of the process is provided by concentrated solar radiation. The electricity demand of the subsequent electrochemical step is significantly lower than in conventional electrolysis processes. In the future, this could enable the efficient and renewable production of hydrogen on a multi-megawatt scale, avoiding CO₂ emissions.
