                    Test facilities and test stands

                    Compact specialists

The Institute's test facilities and test stands are used for the experimental investigation of processes and components using concentrated solar radiation. They were developed in co-operation with industrial partners to meet the respective requirements.

                    High temperature reactors

We use high-temperature reactors to demonstrate processes in which chemical reactions take place at particularly high temperatures. To do this, we heat the reactors to over 500 degrees Celsius by irradiating them with concentrated natural or artificial sunlight. Our focus is on thermochemical cycles.

                    SoCRatus

The SoCRatus (Solar Concentrator with a Rectangular Flat Focus) test stand enables the experimental investigation of photocatalytic and photoelectrochemical systems as well as other systems and components, such as photovoltaic cells, under concentrated solar radiation.

                    MOPUW

The mobile pump and heat transfer fluid test stand (MOPUW) enables tests with thermal oils up to 500 degrees Celsius in continuous operation.
