                    About us

The DLR Institute of Future Fuels introduces itself. In addition to an introduction to our research work, the following pages provide insights into our four research departments as well as more detailed information on contact persons and the Institute's two sites.

                    The Institute of Future Fuels

The Institute of Future Fuels contributes to making renewable resources available to replace fossil resources. We develop solutions for how hydrogen and fuels can be produced cost-effectively on an industrial scale from the raw materials water, CO₂ and nitrogen using renewable energies.

                    Departments

The research work at the Institute of Future Fuels is divided into four departments and sub-groups. The thematic focuses range from chemical and physical fundamentals, the design of processes and components, scaling and tests on large-scale research facilities to the evaluation and comprehensive process assessment of CO₂-neutral fuels.
