                                                              Heating networks [SF]

District heating networks supply multiple consumers with heat from one or more heat generation units. In the coming years, heat production must be transitioned towards a renewable energy supply. Numerous existing installations demonstrate that solar thermal systems can also be utilised in colder climates. In Germany, flat-plate collectors and evacuated tube collectors have been used for this purpose so far.

Working principle of solar heating networks [SF]

Heat networks are a key component of the energy transition: they connect renewable heat sources, storage facilities and consumers to form an efficient overall system, thereby enabling a reliable and climate-friendly heat supply.

                                                              Practical example: Brønderslev, Dänemark

A combination of solar thermal, biomass and a heat pump [SF]

A practical example from Brønderslev shows how concentrated solar thermal energy, biomass and heat pumps can be successfully combined to form a hybrid energy system and integrated into a district heating network.

                                                              Practical example: Taars, Dänemark

Hybrid Solar Thermal Energy in District Heating [SF]

A practical example from Taars, where a hybrid solar thermal system was successfully integrated into a district heating network, shows that combining different types of solar thermal collectors offers major advantages.
