Review of the Munich Satellite Navigation Summit 2025

The Munich Satellite Navigation Summit 2025 provided an outstanding platform to gain insights into the latest advancements in satellite navigation and to engage in meaningful dialogue with professionals from across the industry. Over the course of the three-day event, numerous colleagues from the Galileo Competence Center participated in high-level panel discussions and made full use of the opportunity to network with peers at our exhibition booth.
Among the wide range of topics discussed, it became clear that Galileo continues to deliver cutting-edge navigation services to a global user base and is undergoing ongoing enhancements through the deployment of the upcoming Galileo Second Generation (G2G) satellites. Another major focus of the discussions was the role of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) PNT systems, which are expected to become an essential component of future multi-layered positioning, navigation, and timing infrastructures.
Experts also emphasized the importance of placing user needs at the center of the design process for commercial LEO PNT constellations, as these requirements will differ significantly from those of traditional MEO GNSS systems. Furthermore, the persistent threat posed by jamming and spoofing was repeatedly raised, highlighting the need for both technical countermeasures and political action to safeguard the integrity of satellite navigation services.
Rather than just reading about the event, we invite you to see and hear directly from some of our colleagues in a short video that captures their impressions from the Summit.
