This department is analysing the ground and space segment technologies which are relevant for the implementation of the new technologies and projects. After suitable technologies have been selected, experts will describe them in a detailed and functional manner.
The core tasks within the Galileo competence centre are:
Analysis and further development of current Galileo/GNSS operating concepts as well as development and validation of new operational concepts
Analysis of present and planned satellite and ground systems, and identification, development and demonstration of suitable operational improvements
Analysis of the current Galileo software architecture and development of new concepts, also to reduce operational effort with regard to complexity and maintenance
