Oberpfaffenhofen is located approximately 25 km west of Munich on the Munich-Lindau motorway (A96). You can reach us from Munich or the airport via the following routes:

Public transport

Coming from the city centre or Munich Airport, take the S-Bahn line S8 in the direction of Herrsching. From the airport there is also the S1 line (in the direction of Ostbahnhof) - please note that if you choose this option, you will have to change at the "Laim" stop to the S8 line in the direction of Herrsching.

  • From the S-Bahn stations "Neugilching" or "Weßling" you can reach DLR on foot, approx. 2.5 km.
  • Taxis are available at the S-Bahn stations "Unterpfaffenhofen-Germering" (12 km to DLR) and "Gilching-Argelsried" (3 km to DLR).
  • Regional buses run from the S-Bahn stations "Gilching-Argelsried", "Neugilching" and "Weßling" - bus X910 and bus 947, get off at the "DLR" stop.

By Taxi

The taxi fee from the airport to DLR is approx. 80 EUR (approx. 45 minutes), from Munich city centre approx. 35 EUR (approx. 30 minutes).

By car

  1. In Munich, take the A96 motorway in the direction of Lindau and
  2. follow the route until exit 32, Oberpfaffenhofen.
  3. At the traffic lights at the motorway exit, turn left towards Herrsching/Oberpfaffenhofen/Weßling.
  4. After about 800 metres you will see the entrance to the DLR on the left.
  5. Please park your vehicle in the visitor car park on the right and then register at reception. You will receive a visitor's pass, which you can use to enter and leave the site independently.
  6. Please note that access to the site is via the entrance at the end of the visitor car park, as this is a one-way street.
  7. At the end of your visit, the pass will be retained by the card reader at the barrier.
