Animation: Visualisation of predicted sea ice movement and calculated route
Animation: Visualisation of predicted sea ice movement and calculated route
Sea ice is mapped in near real-time from radar satellite images using an algorithm developed at DLR. The future movement of the ice is estimated with prediction models. Based on this data, and considering the seabed topography provided by EOMAP, the team from the University of Bremen calculates the optimal route.
