Transport research at DLR – Research making a difference

How will we travel from A to B in the future? Is a world without accidents, traffic jams delays and diversions possible? How can our mobility become compatible with the environment? And what must the transport system of the future look like to ensure it provides for a prospering industry?

DLR's vision is to provide solutions to meet the demands of an increasingly mobile society: Accidents, traffic jams, delays, diversions and environmental pollution should be avoided. In doing so, DLR helps shape trends, explores topics in greater depth and expands its portfolio for a greener, smarter, more user-friendly and more economical future transport.

With its Transport programme, DLR is the second largest institutionally funded transport research facility in Europe. Twenty-eight DLR institutes and facilities follow a systematic, programmatic approach to transport research.
