Digital Airline Twin: Fleet and Maintenance Planning
Digital Airline Twin: Fleet and Maintenance Planning
To realistically simulate airline planning processes, the Digital Airline Twin incorporates feedback mechanisms between individual planning stages.
One example is the interaction between fleet assignment and maintenance planning. During fleet assignment, a schedule may be created that does not provide sufficient time for the required maintenance activities. As part of the Digital Airline Twin, the paper "Flexible maintenance in aircraft rotation models: a modular component of the digital airline twin" presents a mechanism that efficiently identifies such conflicts and adjusts fleet assignment accordingly.
