Rediscover DLR.de

New functions and formats, together with a fresh look, can now be found on DLR.de, the website of the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR). This makes the online offering faster and clearer and, thanks to artificial intelligence (AI), it offers numerous cross-references between topics, research areas, interactive facts and social media activities, rounded off with a powerful search function. DLR.de is, of course, responsive and adapts to the display on which it is being viewed – whether smartphone, personal computer or tablet.

How do I find my way around the new site?

The megamenu always gives an oversight of DLR’s organisational structure with its three pillars – ‘Research and Development’, ‘Space Administration’ and ‘Project Management’. Here you will also find brief presentations on DLR’s 50 institutes and facilities. The new colour concept assists with orientation. The clear ‘mosaic look’ structures the pages on missions, locations and large-scale facilities. The Social Radar shows the current activities on the various DLR social network channels. DLR.de remains available in German and English.

How do I research topics on the website?

When searching on DLR.de, content can be narrowed down by research topics, locations, institutes and facilities – using several filters. News articles also contain a wealth of information and links. From an article page, you can go directly to relevant dossiers, articles, documents and social media posts, as well as short portraits of the participating DLR institutes and facilities. Interactive timelines also provide information about topic-related research projects. An individual article thus becomes a good starting point for research.

The new dossier format clearly presents the various DLR research topics. Here, you will find references to previous publications and other available sources of information such as videos, images, documents, blog posts and posts on social networks. Everything published on DLR.de before 2015 is marked as ‘archive material’ and can also be found easily by using the intelligent search function.
