Environmental management

Environmental management
DLR is actively committed to environmental sustainability through regular identification and monitoring of environmental aspects.

The German Aerospace Centre (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) continuously examines its environmentally relevant activities as an important contribution to the ecological side of sustainability. Environmental aspects and environmental impacts are regularly identified and recorded, and measures for improvement are planned, implemented and monitored.

The international standard DIN EN ISO 14001 serves as the basis for this. The aim is to integrate relevant environmental protection aspects into DLR's management system, which on the one hand provides verifiable support in environmental protection and the implementation of legal requirements, and on the other hand continuously improves DLR's processes and environmental performance. In addition, it provides clear support for the ecological criteria of DLR's sustainability strategy.

The DLR Environmental Management Officer is responsible for the implementation and further development of environmental management at DLR.
