Topographical context map of Gordii Dorsum
Gordii Dorsum is a range of hills on Mars about 500 kilometres long, lying some 1000 kilometres southwest of the giant volcano Olympus Mons. Gordii Dorsum is just one of several ranges protruding into the northern lowlands in a northwest direction, towards the southern Martian highland. It is thought that tectonic processes created these ranges, possibly by dip-slip or strike-slip faults. The images were acquired on 15 January 2013 by the HRSC on board Mars Express during orbit 11503.
