3D view of the Atlantis Chaos region

3D view of the Atlantis Chaos region
Anaglyph images are produced using the nadir channel of the DLR-operated HRSC camera system, which is directed vertically downwards on the surface of Mars, and one of the four stereo channels. Viewed through red-blue or red-green spectacles, they create a realistic, three-dimensional impression of the landscape. The depression in the Atlantic basin and the lower areas adjoining to the south are clearly visible in this image, as is the rugged landscape of Atlantis Chaos with its numerous peaks and mesas.
