Examining the eyes
As part of NASA's Ocular Health study, astronaut Alexander Gerst is using an ultrasound camera to analyse the condition of his eyes. US scientists intend to use this data to investigate the risk that microgravity poses to eyesight and intracranial pressure. Further measurements during the course of the mission and after his return will provide information on possible changes.
