Even from a distance of 383,000 kilometres, lighter and darker areas on the surface of the dwarf planet Ceres are visible. NASA’s Dawn spacecraft will arrive at Ceres in March 2015. This image was acquired on 13 January 2015 by the German-developed Framing Camera on board the spacecraft.
