Animation – looking for Philae
This animation shows a close-up of an image acquired by the Rosetta orbiter’s Optical, Spectroscopic, and Infrared Remote Imaging System (OSIRIS) instrument on 13 December 2014. At that time, the Rosetta orbiter was at a distance of 20 kilometres from Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Several bright spots that might indicate position of the Philae lander are visible. At the end of the animation, a promising candidate for Philae’s landing site can be seen.
