Shunak crater in Kazakhstan
The Shunak structure in Kazakhstan stands out viewed from space in the TanDEM-X elevation model. Its roughly 400-metre-high crater edge stands out in the TanDEM-X elevation model, despite being concealed in an undulating landscape. Measuring 2.8 kilometres across, scientists conjecture that the Shunak Crater was formed roughly 45 million years ago.
