Venus Flytrap

Venus Flytrap
The structure of the trapping leaves of the Venus Flytrap is being used as a template for the new, gapless flap technology. The plant can close its trapping leaves very quickly to catch its insect prey. The carnivorous Dionaea Muscipula does this by changing the pressure in the leaf cells and using a leaf-shape geometry that has been optimised through evolution.
