A model of Schiaparelli at a scale of 1:24 was studied in the transonic wind tunnel in Cologne. The extreme conditions of the re-entry process can be seen particularly well in this data. The measurement data from these extensive experiments on the aerodynamic stability of the capsule will play a crucial role in the safe landing of Schiaparelli.
