Oblique perspective view of a mesa in Noctis Labyrinthus
In the light of a high afternoon Sun, the mesas of Noctis Labyrinthus, which are over 5000 metres high, appear a magnificent golden brown. The shadows make even the smallest unevenness in the terrain stand out strikingly. The view is from the south-southwest across an elevated plateau almost 50 kilometres wide towards the northern foothills of Noctis Labyrinthus.
