Payload integration
The ExoMars 2016 mission, with its two components – the Trace Gas Orbiter and the lander Schiaparelli – being enclosed in the spacecraft fairing. The conical payload adapter (left, shrouded in white) connects the payload to the Proton upper stage. The Russian Proton launcher is integrated horizontally.
