Philae lander on Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko
With the Philae lander, for the first time ever, scientific data was gathered from the surface of a comet. Philae, controlled and monitored by the Lander Control Center (LCC) in Cologne, landed on the comet on 12 November 2014. It conducted science experiments on the surface for some 60 hours and was able to send all the data it acquired to Earth.
