On 19 January 2016, Klaus Uckel, Director of the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) Project Management Agency (front left), and Wang Ruijun, Director General of the National Center for Science and Technology Evaluation (NCSTE) (front right), signed an agreement for closer collaboration in programmes to promote research funding and innovation support systems in the presence of the German Federal Minister of Education and Research, Johanna Wanka (rear left), and the Chinese Minister of Science and Technology, Wan Gang (rear right).
