EDEN ISS greenhouse, designed for perpetual ice
The DLR facility will be situated roughly 300 metres from the Neumayer Station III operated by the Alfred Wegener Institute. It will be used to cultivate cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes and other plants. DLR engineers are using the EDEN ISS project to research the conditions under which small numbers of vegetable plants will deliver the highest yield.
