On 25 February 2007, Rosetta skimmed the surface of Mars at an altitude of just 250 kilometres, performing a 'swing-by' manoeuvre designed to modify the spacecraft's trajectory and speed. The ÇIVA camera on board the Philae landing craft took this 'selfie' at a distance of approximately 1000 kilometres.
