How do you weigh yourself in microgravity conditions?
It is far from easy to determine how heavy you are in microgravity conditions, but it is nevertheless important to know the weight of astronauts for the purpose of the scientific experiments carried out on board the ISS. To ‘weigh’ himself, Alexander Gerst clips himself into a spring-mounted holder and is shaken. His body mass can then be determined through the oscillation frequency.
