NASA’s Dawn spacecraft acquired the best images of Ahuna Mons in December 2015 from its lowest orbit around Ceres. Recorded from an altitude of just 385 kilometres above the surface, the individual images that make up this mosaic have a resolution of 35 metres per pixel. Ahuna Mons highest point – at almost 5000 metres – is on its steepest mountain flank (bottom). Its summit plateau drops to about 4000 metres to the northeast (top right). Ahuna Mons’ base has a diameter of about 20 kilometres.
